My name is Alyssa Lacap, and I am one of the VAW Team Development Coordinators. I am currently working to receive my B.S. in Biology at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada. I was first introduced to VAW through the team being formed on my campus in 2020. I was able to join the board of our club, and we worked hard to build and train a team of interns in the midst of the pandemic. After finally going on our outreach trip to Guatemala at the beginning of 2022, I realized how much of an impact VAW makes with all the work that it does, so I decided I wanted to get more involved! Fortunately, I have been able to get involved with the organization on many different levels: Intern, Team Leader, Ambassador, and now, Team Development Coordinator. I am excited to work with everyone and make a difference!
